ECHOnet.org poised for relaunch

As Published on NorthFortMyersNeighborhood.com

Local non-profit, Educational for Hunger Organization or ECHO will be revealing its newly designed website (http://www.echonet.org) on Tuesday August 25th with a launch party at 10:30 am.

Visitors, guests, ECHO staff and volunteers and will celebrate with "webpage punch, technology tea and search-engine-optimized snacks at the reception. Staff from Wmtek, the creators of the site will be in attendance as well.

The ECHO website not only allows the public to find out more information about this international development organization, but is integral to ECHO's mission of helping those working with the poor overseas have more access to research, ideas and resources.

"Our technical documents are downloaded at an average of 900 per day!" says ECHO President and CEO Stan Doerr, "We want those overseas to have the best possible access to our resources, and that includes this great new website."

"We'd like to invite local residents to come and get the first glances at our new site as they celebrate with us," says Public Relations Manager Danielle Flood who has been heading up the project. "But the best thing about the internet is that people from all over the world can come! 10:30 am EST is 5:30 PM in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and our contacts there can come too!

Visitors to the site not only be able to download documents, but also read the ECHO blog, comment on various articles, join the ECHO network, request seeds, watch videos and podcasts and read archived issues of ECHO newsletters and documents

For more information about the Launch Party, please call Danielle Flood at 239.567.3312 or visit www.echonet.org.

FEATURED PROJECTS

MakaziVille.com

WMtek recently went live with "MakaziVille," an Avatar-based adventure game where kids can learn about Bible translation. This project was a result from a partnership between the Duggar family and The Seed Company, who wanted to create a fun and exciting way to show families the importance of getting the Bible to unreached people groups. MakaziVille takes you through ten levels which include devotions and over 400 games, quizzes, and other educational challenges the user must complete in order to build and expand their village. Some challenges even take the user away from the computer to do with other people, incorporating the importance of reading your Bible, praying, and sharing your faith.
